Without Vision….! # 3

Here are a few short steps to creating that enduring vision for your business

1.  THINK.

In this day and age, many people are so busy they rarely have time to think.  Well, they ‘think’ they have no time to think!  This is not actually true.  They simply have to make a decision to go off somewhere and make that time.  It’s absolutely essential to do this.

I think Steven Covey gives us a hint about this thinking process with these words:

“Begin with the end in mind”.

He says:

To begin with the end in mind means to start with a clear understanding of your destination…The extent to which you begin with the end in mind often determines whether or not you are able to create a successful enterprise.

Everything has a beginning, and everything has an end.  So, why not start out with a vision of what you think the business is going to look like at the end?

Think about it for a few minutes.

Imagine what it could look like – at its very best.

Then write that picture down!

Use visionary words like, “I see it ………….”

And don’t be scared to be bold.  If you’re going to think at all, then you might as well think big!

Then, gather a few trusted people around you and start to bounce this picture off them.  They know you well enough to know whether you have the ability, and the energy, to make this picture a reality.
